Angkor balloon1 viewsAbout 1km from the Angkor Wat complex, a local hotel has an expensive ride ($US15)in a balloon that rich foreigners can go straight up and down in. It has a guide wire that runs through the middle of a circular platform that passengers can walk around on and take in a 360 degree view of the area. Angkor Wat can be seen very well in the distance when you ride the balloon. The ride lasts for about 15 minutes and gives a great perspective of the Siem Reap area.

Contemplation1 viewsThere's a small village, called Mook Jone, that is in northern Luangnamtha. It doesn't have foreign visitors very often. So when my friend and I ended up there on a 2 day mountain biking tour, needless to say we were an attraction. There were about 30 huts and around 100 villagers. And for the time we were there, we always had company, either in the form of the kids or the local adults who wanted to see how these strange people acted.
